This provides her with an intimate, upstairs/downstairs perspective on household life in ancient times. At first she does menial work, but she improves her situation by telling stories and making prophecies. As her influence grows, she wins the love of her master and his daughter and provokes the vengeful jealousy of his wife. In this gentle fable about the power of stories to change people's lives, the heroine uses sources that include fairy tales and great works of literature to argue for women’s rights and the humanity of slaves, and to inspire herself and others to be resourceful, courageous and independent. Miranda's own life becomes as mythic as the stories she tells. In a narrative that is part adventure, part romance, and part fantasy, the heroine triumphs over adversity and makes a place for herself in the world of the past."<br /><br /></span>I loved this book. It was so full of surprises and excitement that I couldn't put it down.<br /><br />When I first got the book I was worried that I wouldn't like it and put it on the back of the bookshelf. I am so glad now that I have read it.<br /><br />In the beginning of the book, when she first travels back in time, it was so well written that you didnt know if she was ever going to get out of her predicament but in the back of your mind you knew that everything was going to be all right.<br /><br />I want you to enjoy every last minute like I did, so i don't want to give to much of the book away. But I do think you should read it. <span style="font-style: italic;"><br /><br /><span style="color: rgb(51, 0, 153);font-family:times new roman;font-size:180%;" >-Sarah</span><br /></span>sarahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14282162452092963045noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2994898580376969560.post-14949904766024762422009-02-08T08:45:00.000-08:002009-02-08T08:48:38.828-08:00Cover game!<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJuCHL6grHBFz3u6NUEsxII0oMFmuPF38_FP5NLDnz1Wm9oeGn2838xnpUwDfFU5eviRTzbRC2vr7m_vlsztETnGNkJAXiTEQZQ5lxdEsNWNCT5MzlavP4Z842iVhW4VEHhAaPktHnVN8/s1600-h/rumors.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5300468757457945666" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 158px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 235px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJuCHL6grHBFz3u6NUEsxII0oMFmuPF38_FP5NLDnz1Wm9oeGn2838xnpUwDfFU5eviRTzbRC2vr7m_vlsztETnGNkJAXiTEQZQ5lxdEsNWNCT5MzlavP4Z842iVhW4VEHhAaPktHnVN8/s320/rumors.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtJLA2uwKzkFt_sPd68r8PQz6hlDQmvZajUcwCtv2yCj-jou424KECLG4-96RqdKDq9Fxm7qX9jJivFu9CD1ZOM4yvS1EBFJo8NUI2oFbakcCbyx0bbfzMVLUWnA_F4umX5D1JQhjCEcU/s1600-h/Luxe.bmp"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5300468754705598850" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 240px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 240px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtJLA2uwKzkFt_sPd68r8PQz6hlDQmvZajUcwCtv2yCj-jou424KECLG4-96RqdKDq9Fxm7qX9jJivFu9CD1ZOM4yvS1EBFJo8NUI2oFbakcCbyx0bbfzMVLUWnA_F4umX5D1JQhjCEcU/s320/Luxe.bmp" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYW1BbJEQi8OCr2sascgDphfwyqigwdryC7n7sGC7rYwAMN4oFyNr5NvXqXbBiw8gH579kLEadm_6qBmFZZxsN16g1Mj4p6U0fKZFB7W_s0L_XmOCDV94FzVRY_l0MFJUXGv_aDnNioFw/s1600-h/Envy...Luxe.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5300468752790795762" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 272px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 275px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYW1BbJEQi8OCr2sascgDphfwyqigwdryC7n7sGC7rYwAMN4oFyNr5NvXqXbBiw8gH579kLEadm_6qBmFZZxsN16g1Mj4p6U0fKZFB7W_s0L_XmOCDV94FzVRY_l0MFJUXGv_aDnNioFw/s320/Envy...Luxe.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div>So these are the Luxe series book covers. When he put the tapes in him Walkman he hear the voice of his good friend and the girl he was secretly crushing on, she had committed suicide months before. As he listens to the tapes he follows the map that was given to him with them. While on an emotional roller coaster he finds his true self and finds out so much about why Hannah killed herself.<br /><br /><br />Jay Asher is brilliant in this book, I’m not going to say its one of those page turners, you get in done in one day kind of book. Its so much more, you have to let everything soak in and really think about the story to really get what its about and understand. I would read one chapter and sit and think about it for at least and hour. Its not something that you can blow though and move on.<br /><br /><br />It’s an amazing story and it changes you input on life, you really start to think about your actions and the way you treat others after reading this book. I advise EVERYONE to read it, even if you don’t like reading books that are sad, or about suicide because that’s not what its all about, its like a setting, just there to serve as a background, the real story is between the lines and how you read it. </div>sarahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14282162452092963045noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2994898580376969560.post-40960063318611609952008-06-11T21:32:00.000-07:002008-06-11T21:34:35.629-07:00E- mailsIf you would like to get e-mails with all the new features and reveiws send you name and e-mail address to <a href="mailto:sarahsue94@yahoo.com">sarahsue94@yahoo.com</a>sarahhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14282162452092963045noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2994898580376969560.post-25296994689424876062008-06-11T21:11:00.000-07:002008-06-12T09:11:55.094-07:00Tagged!!!I was TAGGED! by Kelsey!!<br /><br />This seems fun thanks for the tag lol<br /><br />Rules:<br />1.
